Most people are surprisingly unaware about the fact that for a cow to produce milk, she must give birth. And from the moment the calf is born on a dairy farm, it enters an inescapable cycle of suffering. Female calves live short, painful lives in a lonely hut deprived of motherly care, and ends with her body being forcefully impregnated over and over again her entire life until she is discarded and slaughtered. Male calves however, are considered a byproduct called veal, they are kept in cramped pens or tiny crates to prevent them from moving so that their flesh stays tender. Mother cows call for their calves for days while the milk meant for their babies is stolen from them to produce dairy products. My Animal Cruelty Series is a series focused on the injustice and cruelty to animals and to allow viewers to momentarily think about their stance on the issue.
